Outdoor equestrian activities fall under the Irish government’s Roadmap for Reopening of Society and Business, Phase 1, due to commence on May 18, according to Horse Sport Ireland.
Faith Ponsonby (FEI dressage judge) and Tony Ennis (AIRC chairman) are to go head to head over a unique race later this month to raise funds for front line workers.
We’ve all been affected by Covid-19 and the restrictions caused by social distancing since we had to suspend all AIRC activities on the 19th March. During this time we’ve all had to adapt to these restrictions, and it looks like these, along with social distancing will be with us for some time yet.
Horse Sport Ireland, the Governing Body for Equestrian Sport in Ireland, and the centralised national body for the sport horse industry (breeding & sport) has delivered a comprehensive submission to Government, aimed at ensuring that considered protocols and procedures can be put in place to allow an incremental resumption of equestrian activity when current Covid-19 restrictions are lifted and it is deemed safe to do so by the Department of Health and An Taoiseach.
